Picnic in the Park: Food, Fun and Fellowship
The stewards hosted their annual Picnic in the Park on Sunday 23rd August at Rothamsted Park, bringing around 50 people together for an afternoon of food, fun and fellowship.
With picnic blankets spread out and sandwiches to munch on, it was a lovely opportunity to relax, catch up and enjoy some time together as a church family. But, of course, no church picnic would be complete without a little friendly competition!
There was something for everyone, including:
Word games – to challenge our brains and focus.
Pass the parcel – with Ruth emerging as the winner and proudly unwrapping the ‘very limited edition’ trophy plate.
Tug of war – a fiercely contested battle… can you guess which side won?
Egg and spoon race – which brought out some surprisingly competitive participants!
Can toss – proving that a good aim can be a very useful skill at a picnic.
After all the games and competition, it was time to take a seat and enjoy some delicious cake together.
A huge thank you to all the stewards for organising such a fun afternoon, and especially to Mike, pictured in the red top in the group photo, for putting everything together.
It was a great afternoon of laughter, friendship and community — we’re already looking forward to the next one!
