Creating Worry Monsters
Every other Tuesday, Wesleys Café hosts a friendly and welcoming craft group with a purpose.
Whether you knit or crochet, there’s a place for you! We create handmade Worry Monsters and hand puppets which are donated to Knit for Nowt, who distribute them to help therapists, social workers, and teachers support children coping with trauma, loss, or neglect. If making a monster sounds daunting, don’t worry—there are simpler items to get you started. For example, the charity often dresses the monsters in little knitted pants—used to help explain to children that "privates are private." So even if you’re new to knitting, you can still contribute in a meaningful way.
Come along for a cuppa, a chat, and the joy of crafting together.
It’s free and open to all—just bring your needles, crochet hooks, wool and enthusiasm!
