Our Youth Need You!

Can you make a hot chocolate?
Can you wash dishes?
Can you be you?

Well of course most people can. Guess what though… if you answered “yes” to these questions, that means that you, yes you, have what it takes to help in youth work! So… why not think about joining our team?

Help out!

We are hoping to continue Lumen and Insight, host new groups, hold fun events, and much more! But to do this, we need people! Whether you think you can offer an hour a week, an hour a month or an hour every few months, come and find out how you can help.

Over the next few weeks High Street Youth will have a station in the Foyer on Sunday mornings where you can come and ask questions, find out more about what’s going on, and sign up to help.

Why not come along to say 'hi'?, (you won’t end up on a rota for just saying “hi”). But consider this: Youth needs You, without it we’re just “th”.

Pray with us!

One of the recurring topics on people’s hearts at the Big Day In were families, children and young people. So, even if you’re unable to sign up to help I would invite you to join in to pray about it. Whether we know what’s next or the next step is unclear, prayer is almost always the best thing to do! So, I am inviting you to join me in the LX (at the rear of the church carpark) for prayer on:

18 May 9:30 - 11am
18 June 8 - 9pm
18 July 2 - 3pm

Suppose you wanted to add a plant to your garden, you wouldn’t put it in the soil until you had made sure the soil was going to sustain it. Prayer can be like that, it helps in preparing and it helps in sustaining. It keeps our ears open to God.

The Youth Prayer Team has already been continually praying for young people and it would be amazing if there were more people joining in this conversation of prayer.

Regardless of whether you are a loud avid prayer pray-er or a quiet and silent prayer pray-er, you are welcome and invited. In particular, if you were one of those people mentioning “youth” at the Big Day In, come along!
