Worship for all at The Gathering

Worship and friendship for those with special or additional needs

The Gathering is a time of worship held on the second Tuesday each month at 10.45am for adults with special and additional needs and their carers.  It is held in the Church Hall, where the guests are welcomed with refreshments and activities based on a theme.  This is followed by singing, a Bible story involving a video, puppets or drama, an interactive time of prayer and worship ends with flags and tambourines to accompany a much-loved song: ‘Our God is wonderful.’

There is a craft activity at the end for members to take home.  This month. James enjoyed making a heart themed craft and told us how much he enjoys coming to the Gathering.

The team who lead the worship is blessed as much as the guests as there is always a sense of joy in the singing and the desire to be involved in the prayers and other activities. The carers say how much they enjoy it too, for some it is their only church service.

We are always looking for more people to help.  Whether it’s an hour spent setting up and greeting people with refreshments, helping on the AV system, leading the prayers, telling the story or joining the planning team you would be more than welcome.

If you would like to know more contact the office and come along to the next Gathering on 18 March to meet the group.  We would love to see you there!
