Meeting Jesus
Lent is a season of turning - turning away from what diminishes life and turning toward the One who gives it.
It is a journey through wilderness and shadow, honesty and hope, all leading us to the cross and the empty tomb.
In this series, we will walk alongside a remarkable cast of people whose lives were forever changed by an encounter with Christ.
22 February - When satan met jesus
We begin in the wilderness, where Jesus meets Satan (Matthew 4:1–11) and confronts temptation with faithfulness, showing us the way of trust and obedience.
1 March - When Nicodemus Met Jesus
We sit with Nicodemus (John 3:1–17), who comes by night with his questions, and discover what it means to be born from above.
8 March - When a Samaritan Woman Met Jesus
We stand at the well with the Samaritan woman (John 4:5–42) and witness living water offered to the thirsty and the outcast.
15 March - When a Blind Man Met Jesus
We watch as Jesus opens the eyes of a man born blind (John 9:1–41), revealing not only physical sight but spiritual vision.
22 March - When Mary and Martha Met Jesus
We grieve with Mary and Martha at the tomb of Lazarus (John 11:1–45), learning that Jesus meets us in sorrow and calls forth life even from death.
29 March - When Jerusalem Met Jesus
We join the crowds in Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1–11), shouting hosanna, only to be challenged about the kind of king we truly desire.
5 April - When Mary Magdalene Met Jesus
And finally, we linger in the garden with Mary Magdalene (John 20:1–18), who meets the risen Christ and hears her name spoken with resurrection hope.
Each encounter invites us to see ourselves in the story. In every conversation, every question, every miracle, Jesus reveals who he is—and who we are becoming in him.
This Lent, may we not only study these meetings from a distance, but find ourselves meeting Jesus anew.
