Worship Group
This role is part of the church’s vision to see lives, relationships and communities transformed by the love of God.
The Worship group provides the music for the 9.15 informal service on a Sunday morning. The group aim to support the worship leaders to lead the congregation in worship through the music we play. The group aims to create a space through the music where God can be encountered.
Weekly rehearsals take place for those who are on rota to play on the Sunday. Members meet early Sunday morning to sound check.
Key volunteer activities:
To play in the band for the 9.15am Sunday service
To attend a rehearsal on the run up to any Sunday service you are on rota to play
To arrive 8.15/8.30am on the Sunday to sound check and help with any final set up
To serve the worship leaders and preachers as they lead an act of worship
To offer your available dates to the worship group coordinator in advance of each quarter
To attend any additional events such as Worship Collectives or Training sessions as you are able
The person doing this role needs to:
Have a level of competency in a musical instrument or voice.
Level of commitment:
As often as you are able.
Training and support:
The worship group coordinator will arrange regular opportunities for the worship group to meet over food to build relationships and pray for the worship life of the 9.15 service. All are invited to attend as you are able.
The worship group coordinator will from time to time host training sessions on working as a worship group or vocal and instrumental workshops. All are invited to attend as you are able.
Times:
Sunday 9.15am service and occasionally at other services as required.
