Voices of Angels!

Christmas came to High Street early this year or at least you would have thought so if you’d visited the church on 29 October. Our Christmas decorations were up and we were in festive mood. This was all in aid of a visit from the BBC who came to film us for the episode of Songs of Praise which aired on Sunday 8 December.

They had heard about our knitted angels and wanted to come and see for themselves how we were using them to bless our community.

Deacon Sarah took centre stage and was interviewed about the angels and what they symbolised. She was also filmed delivering angels to a local business and care home. Sarah was joined by a busy crowd of knitters, crocheters and label writers in Wesleys.

If you missed Songs of Praise you can catch the episode on iPlayer.

On Sunday 8 December we were all invited to take an angel or two and deliver to the local shops and businesses in the town.

There are still some angels available and Sarah will be in the Foyer to hand out the final few after our morning worship on 15 December.
