The Next Generation

At the start of October, High Street Youth went to Birmingham for the weekend!

Eleven members of High Street Youth and three leaders attended 3Generate, the annual Methodist youth and children’s assembly. We camped indoors and spent the weekend enjoying the different venues, worshipping with other young people, and having our voices heard.

Some of the fun things we got up to: scaling the climbing wall; scrambling through the mobile caving system; constructing and fixing game boys at the Repair Shop; created stress balls at the Art Station (named Fred, Pickle and Barry); had a go at learning some circus skills; voted for who we wanted as the new Youth President; met some of the Youth Reps and had our say; twirled and danced at the ceilidh; shared late night communion together; had fun at the various VR (virtual reality) stations; won real money in a Dragons Den pitch to action a mission project; worshipped at both the main stage in the Park and inside the inflatable church.

A special 'Thank you' to Helen Carter and Mike Lawford who accompanied us on this epic weekend!
