Summer Round-up
It’s been a busy summer at High with lots of activities. Our service theme during August has centred around how we are blessed through the natural world. We have also been blessing one another with acts of love both within our church and with our wider local community.
Your amazing generosity meant that we could help local families with food, crafts and summer holiday club places through our Summer SHARE Appeal. Thank you too to our amazing SHARE Team who make it all happen.
Our annual church picnic took place on 10 August and the weather was perfect to meet in the park and share fun and games. Thank you to our stewarding team, and especially Mike Lawford for arranging such a fun afternoon
Throughout August we have been hosting activity mornings for young children: Primary age at our Glue and Games sessions and pre-Schoolers at Stay and Play.
Lots of our church family volunteered to offer a warm welcome and a lots of happy children (and their carers!) were kept busy.
Ruth and the Youth Team have also offered weekly Youth Drop-In sessions, offering our young people somewhere to relax and have fun.
And of course summer just wouldn’t be summer at High Street without our amazing Train Day. Our new church space allowed the day to be even bigger and better than before and over 300 visitors came and enjoyed all that was on offer. Thank you to Joseph and his team of volunteers for another successful day. Over £1,000 was raised for our church charities: All We Can and Haven Hope.
