Project Update 2

22 January 2025

We are pleased to share an update on the Shaped for Mission project at High Street and we’re grateful for the many members of our church family who’ve shared their time, expertise, and prayers.

This project is going ahead thanks to the financial support of 72 households, representing 99 individual adult members and friends, across all our congregations, together with our Methodist Circuit and District. In addition to all those of you who have held this in your prayers.

Work will begin in the main church space after morning services on Sunday 9 February. The church will then be closed while updates to the seating, floor, electrics, lighting, stage, and lift are completed.

During this time:

  • Sunday worship will move to the Hall, with 9:15 and 11am services continuing.

  • Children’s Church will meet in the seminar room and Lumen will continue to meet in the LX.

  • Live streaming will continue to keep everyone connected.

  • Refreshments will be served in Wesleys as usual.

  • Weekday activities in our building will, as far as possible, continue as normal while the main church space is closed.

  • The church office will be open as usual.

  • Keep an eye out for changes to Wesleys cafe opening times as, whilst they will remain largely the same, we will be carrying out some work in there over this period so there will be some days it will be closed.

We hope to complete the work in time for Easter, but we’ll keep you informed of any changes. Church Stewards will be on hand each Sunday to support everyone during this period of transition.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and feedback as we move forward together.
