Full Steam Ahead Still On Track!
One year ago, a group from High Street started a special interest group. Mike Lawford updates us:
One evening a month we have met in Wesley’s; sharing stories, films, photos and models of trains, sitting in comfy chairs with a cup of tea or coffee. We often watch videos on subjects varying from current news to gloriously evocative archive films; interspersed with clips of seemingly giant cats invading Japanese model railways or vans having near misses with trains on level crossings!
Several new members have joined during the year, and now usually eight or nine of us attend each time. We range in age from our 30s up to our 80s; both churchgoers and non-churchgoers.
We are always looking for others to join us. So, if you fancy a relaxed evening of railway-based fellowship, possibly sharing your own railway interests or to just sit back and be entertained by whatever we end up discussing, we would be glad to welcome you!
For more information, please come and talk to me – or better still I can direct you to others already in our group who can tell you what it is that makes them they keep coming back!
We meet from 7pm to 9pm in Wesley’s on the fourth Wednesday of each month. No charge – and I always try not to poison anyone with my inexpert tea and coffee making skills!
If you would like to know more please contact the church office who will put you in touch with me.
