The Singing Bowl
I have been profoundly moved by Malcolm Guite’s poetry. As a contemporary writer he speaks about the dark and the light, about pain and depression, joy and peace. He has a Christian conviction that seeks beauty and transfiguration in the everyday. Poems are centred on love, parting and mortality in the world where he is. This book touches the soul and could be used in private devotion or public prayer.
The Singing Bowl is Guite’s second book written in 2013. It is easily accessible and a joy to read, prompting theological insight in the ordinary for us to dwell on. I recommend this collection; the poems linger with you.
