Carnival Fun

On Sunday 23 November, as part of Harpenden’s Christmas Carnival, we welcomed 675 people to our Nativity Experience to travel from the donkeys, sheep and goats into the Inn, on to the shepherds and end at the stable with Mary and Joseph and the new baby. Our very own carpenter and her assistants then helped the children make a tree decoration as a souvenir of their journey.

Hundreds more came through our front doors to enjoy the refreshments and children’s crafts offered in church.

Thank you to our utterly amazing band of volunteers helped bless our community and offer a warm welcome on a cold day.

The afternoon was rounded off with carols which drew in quite a crowd.

Donations were welcomed for All We can and The Haven and we collected £1,188.

We received the following email on Monday morning:

Just wanted to say a big thank you for such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at your Church on Sunday. We had a marvellous time at your Nativity experience and did make a decoration for our tree which we can't wait to hang up. We loved the carols too. Everyone was so happy and pleased to chat.
