We believe we are all called to love and care for each other.  Just as Jesus commanded -  “Love each other as I have loved you”.

But we also have a system of organised Pastoral care, as we refer to it in Methodism, where we aim to provide not just a listening ear but to encourage you in your spiritual life too.

The care we give could be any one of these or a number of them at the same time:

  • A phone call - someone to listen, encourage and help

  • A home visit or meeting outside the home, maybe for a coffee

  • Encouraging someone at Church on a Sunday

  • A hospital visit

  • A card of support or delivery of flowers

  • Home Communion taken to those unable to get to Church

  • Bereavement Care

Our Pastoral Lead team are in regular contact to determine how best to support an individual who needs care and support.  They are underpinned by a wider team of Pastoral Contacts, Visitors, Home Groups, and the Bereavement and Extended Home Communion Teams.

Many people are in a home group or another kind of group (such as our church choir)  which meets regularly and where supportive relationships have naturally been built with others who attend.

We also have a team of Pastoral Contacts and Visitors who look after a number of people each.
