And The Rest

When was the last time you were truly at rest?

Is being at rest the same as not doing anything?

Is being at rest a failure to use our time wisely?

In a world that is often busy, distracted and striving, it can be easy to miss that Jesus invites us to come to him and rest. Even God took time in the story of creation to rest, and yet perhaps we have forgotten the life-giving power that rest can bring. Being still creates a space where we can know and learn more about God and have our souls restored.

In the run up to Easter, we’ll be looking closer at what it means to recognise that we have a God of rest through three special services. Our worship will focus on providing times of stillness and reflection, and we have two special midweek opportunities to experience spaces of calm and be refreshed.

In addition, there are resources available in the resource centre, and for homegroups we highly recommend ‘The Rest Is Worship’ by Sam and Sarah Hargreaves, available online from Engage Worship.
